Hello and welcome to the forum.
What medications are you crushing, and is your husband on hospice?

Are these medications for comfort? Could you ask for liquid-forms of these comfort medications?

Pudding or ice cream; again, if you’re attempting large vitamins or medications that are not supposed to be crushed, this is not recommended.

I was going to say a spoon full of jelly, but then I realized he doesn't know about the meds.

So I'm wondering more about your husbands health, and how much help you are getting?

It sounds like it's time for you to get more help. Hospice? A facility? But I need more information.

So sorry you are going through this
Have you tried some like ice cream, or pudding?

Best of luck

Put his pharmacy approved crushed pills in some applesauce or pudding and feed it to him before he gets a chance to become agitated.

Are you aware that many meds are not meant to be crushed since this destroys the time-release mechanism in them? I would read the package as it would say "Do not crush or break". Ask the pharmacist if it comes in another form (patch, liquid, nose spray, suppository).

If it is crushable, then I agree with giving it to him on a regular "maintenance" schedule before he starts to become agitated and to keep his agitation at a minimum. First talk to his doctor about doing this.

It will have to be put in something strong flavored an very sweet to cover the very bitter flavor like grape jelly, Nutella, cold hot fudge sauce etc. Only give him a tablespoon of it so he consumes it in one go. Then offer him something strong flavored to drink right afterwards to get the bitter taste out right away. You can tell him it's vitamins.

See if his meds come in liquid form. Ask his doctor for some liquid Ativan. Start with half a milligram to one milligram right in his mouth, or on a spoon of pudding or applesauce and he won't get agitated at all. You will have no problem with feeding or getting his other meds taken.
